Lattes – Montpellier Agglomération
This is a wonderful location in a region boasting over 300 days of sunshine per year and just minutes away from the sea.
The town of Lattes itself has evolved from a large Roman Harbour to a vibrant city with modern architecture and infrastructure where nature has been carefully preserved. This provides a very high quality of life to the inhabitants.
It is ideally tucked between Montpellier City Centre, which is only 10 minutes away, the Méjean Natural Park and the Beaches of Carnon and Palavas. It is within easy access of the A9 Motorway (5 minutes from the nearest exit) and Montpellier Méditérannée Airport (5 minutes). The 3rd Tramway line of Montpellier will allow a direct link between the city centre of Lattes and the city centre of Montpellier.
Lattes is also part of the Greater Montpellier (Montpellier Agglomération) and as such enjoys the same amenities as the larger cities whilst retaining a village style quality of life.
Discovering Lattes
- The Archeological Museum and the its adjoining Archeological site, still in activity. Every year new artefacts from Latte’s roman history are being unearthed and displayed in the Museum;
- The Méjean Natural Park, a wildlife and bird sanctuary with several kilometres of nature trail for walking or cycling, nesting within the vast salt Lakes ;
- Port Ariane, the Marina with several shops, Restaurants and Harbour;
- Its Roman Church Saint Laurent (late 12th Century)
In Lattes you will also find several traditionnal shops, shopping centres, fitness centres, a 12 screen cinema complex as well as restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars and night clubs.
The Languedoc Area
The region is within very easy access thanks to regular flights to and from Toulouse, Carcassonne, Perpignan, Montpellier, Nimes and Bézier airports. You can also take the train as it is situated on the main line between Bordeaux and Marseille while the TGV line Paris – Montpellier will take you there in under 3 and half hours. The main motorways A61, A9 & A75 also allow for easy access to this wonderful area.
It is also very near Spain with Barcelona and the Cost Brava within 3 hours, Andorra and its many ski resorts are only 2h30 away and of course the many French ski resorts in the French Pyrénées: Font-Romeu, Les Angles and Ax-Bonascre
